Coupla things:
Nezumi's birthday is Tuesday. Much yay. Nezumi likes birthdays, even if she rarely gets made a fuss over, which she'd love.
Nezumi lost her job Tuesday. And she's pretty sure her knees won't allow her to return to PSW work, so it's back to searching for work in other regards.
There's a good chance Nezumi might be going back to college (again!) this fall, this time into an illustration course, to maybe try to become a pro or semi-pro artist. Also to buy time to learn enough French to find a job in this bloody town. More details as they come in.

If you were closer, I'd make a fuss over your birthday. We could have big joint birthday party next weekend!
Well, with the job Nezumi was finding it tough to keep up, and despite the fact that she received precious little support they basically decided that she wasn't performing well enough and let her go. And by a SURPRISING COINCIDENCE it was only a week before Nezumi's 6-month probation was up. What a shock, eh?
But Nezumi's seriously looking at this course right now (the one-year part) for a couple of reasons. For one, it's something she feels she's capable of. For another, Nezumi's previous attempts at vocations aimed solely at getting a regular job have pretty much panned out, and it's time for something a little more off the beaten track. Besides which, it also buys her more time to study French in some capacity, and hopefully that'll make her more marketable in Ottawa, so then she'll have more clerical type skills to fall back on.
It's a bit scary, but Nezumi's seriously thinking of going for it.
